Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Why does a new BPKB take longer to issue than an STNK?
Because the printing and the verification of the vehicle's origin documents are carried out centrally through the Seksi BPKB (BPKB Section) of the Ditlantas Polda.
Are there additional BPKB requirements for imported vehicles?
Yes. They require an import declaration document (Pemberitahuan Impor Barang, or PIB) and official customs documents.
Is the BPKB handed over immediately when buying through a dealer?
Usually the BPKB is handed over by the dealer once it has been printed by the Ditlantas Polda.
